8:00 pm To 11:59 pm

Saint Rocke, Pacific Coast Highway, Hermosa Beach, CA, United States

Event Description

Guitar Legend Dick Dale reigns across the decades as the undisputed king of Rock! In Dale’s own words, “Real surf/Rock Music is instrumental, characterized by heavy staccato picking on a Fender Stratocaster guitar.” Moreover, it’s best played through a Fender Showman Amp — a model built to spec for Dale by Leo Fender himself.
Dick and Leo Fender Created and Pioneered The Fender Equipment in the 1950s/1960s.
Dick Ignited California’s surfing cult in the late 1950s and 1960s with such regional hits as “Mr. Peppermint Man”,
“King of the Surf Guitar”, “Let’s Go Trip-pin’,” “Surf Beat” and “Miserlou,” Dale to name a few and made waves with his fat, edgy sound and aggressive, proto-metal attack. “Miserlou,” released in 1962, marked the first use of a Fender reverb unit — creating an underwater sound with lots of echo — on a popular record. However, Dick Dale music came from wild animals roaring, Gene Krupas drum rhythm and the indigenous people dancing and nothing more. Dick played upside down and backwards, left handed. The only guitarist to do so.
DD was named the second most influential guitarist on the planet. Tickets at http://www.saintrocke.com/event/1434595-guitar-legend-dick-dale-hermosa-beach/
