Bragging rights amongst the South Bay beach volleyball community take center stage just south of the Manhattan Beach Pier this Friday through Sunday as The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Tour makes it second stop in the beach cities. The Manhattan Beach Open has always been a proving ground for professional beach volleyball players, long before commericial sponsors like Jose Cuervo and the descent of the AVP entered the mix. Spectators at The Manhattan Beach Open are just as knowledgeable as the tournament professionals about a sport that many think was conceived on the sands of Manhattan Beach.
Qualifying begins on Friday and the main draw gets underway on Saturday. On Sunday, the women´s final is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. and the men´s for 4 p.m. It will also air on NBC Sports Network on Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. To find about more about The Manhattan Beach Open, visit South Bay Events.
