Hermosa Beach Historical Society presents premiere of surf film “Chasing El Nino” Friday night at the Hermosa Beach Community center as part of Surfers Walk of Fame celebration. The film documents larger than average winters swells that canvassed beach city breaks from The Avenues in Redondo beach all the way up to El Porto.
Hop forward brewery South Bay icon, El Segundo Brewery, serves up yet another day-one bottle release today: Two 5 Left DIPA (Double India Pale Ale). ESBC’s branded nod to its proximity to LAX, Two 5 Left being the name of a runway at LAX, makes it seasonal debut this Friday. It will be available throughout the South Bay and beyond at various bars and bottle shops, or pick-up a bomber at El Segundo Brewery, 140 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245.

Shakespeare by the Sea Presents: Othello (Closing Event): Friday, August 19, 2016 – 7:00 PM Barnstorming live theatre group Shakespeare by the Sea ends its summer run with closing performances of Othello & Cymbeline at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro this weekend. American Legion, Redondo Beach, Poker Night & BBQ: Friday, August 19, 2016 – 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM This is an ongoing fundraiser to provide much needed repairs to American Legion Post 184. BBQ from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. cost is $5 and includes choice of hamburger or hot dog with baked beans, cole slaw & chips. Poker game starts at 6:30 p.m. with a $30 buy-in. Summer Surf Movie Series: The Incredibles: Friday, August 19, 2016 – 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Nikau Kai Waterman Shop’s popular Summer Surf Movie Series is back again for year number three with the partnership of the City of Manhattan Beach. The Incredibles, the Pixar animated film, will be screened for free on Friday, August 19, 2016 in the outdoor courtyard behind the Manhattan Beach Public Library, adjacent to city hall. The event begins at 6:00 PM and includes on-site food, beverage vendors and activities for kids. Music and a raffle will take place before the feature film. 11th Annual Surf Film Fest : Friday, August 19, 2016 – 6:00 PM At 6:00 p.m. Surfer’s Walk of Fame Meet and Greet in the Hermosa Beach Museum; Brother’s Burritos will be selling dinner & King Harbor Brewing Company will be selling a special Hermosa Beach Brew! Come hungry! Kira will be singing! The night features premier of Chasing El Nino, a 45 minute film documenting surfing from this winter’s El Nino swells in the South Bay. It will be shown Friday, August 19th at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse. Doors open at 6pm ($10). This is being featured as part of the Hermosa Beach Surfers Walk of Fame ceremony celebrations.
