The Gundo Comedy Festival: Friday May 19 to Sunday, May 21, 2017 There’s something funny happening in El Segundo and it’s not the odoriferous smell of Hyperion (Sewage Treatment Plant). The Gundo Comedy Festival scorches the small hamlet all weekend with rib-splitting laughter: Improv Comedy, Podcast Recordings, & more in various locations. The festival includes ticketed & free shows nightly, events for kids, and free baby sitting on Saturday night provided by El Segundo Parks and Rec. more info
58th Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration & Parade: Friday, May 19, 2017 to Sunday, May 21, 2017 Beginning May 19, 2017, through Sunday, May 21, 2017, the City of Torrance will pay tribute to the nation’s Armed Forces with its 58th Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration and Parade – the City’s longest standing tradition. Craft Beer & Art Show at Scholb Brewery: Friday, May 19, 2017 – 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Scholb Brewery in Torrance gives a platform for some local artists to showcase their wares Friday night at an event called Craft Beer & Art show. South Bay artists like sports and travel photographer James Kao, abstract artist Laura Schuler and Jeff Fieger will be participating in the show. ADM Presents Woodies Picnic & Car Show: Saturday, May 20, 2017 – 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM See some vintage surf cars at Automobile Driving Museum’s “Woodies Picnic” event on May 20th in El Segundo. Woodies of all kinds will be there, old and new, along with a LIVE Surf Band – “Jetpack” – and food trucks for your enjoyment. more info
4th Annual WalkAbout Redondo: Saturday, May 20, 2017 – 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM The fourth annual WalkAbout Redondo is a collaboration by the North Redondo Beach Business Association (NRBBA), Blue Zones Project and Beach Cities Health District. Smog City Brewing Co. Anniversary Party: Saturday, May 20, 2017 – 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM Seems like every weekend a South Bay brewery celebrates a birthday… Saturday at Smog City Brewery in Torrance an anniversary style elbow-bending occasion is open to the drinking age public. On tap expect at least 24 beers, cellared, experimental, sour and bourbon barrel-aged beers. Multiple bars will be pouring to alleviate long lines, live DJs too. South Bay Beer & Wine Festival: Sunday, May 21, 2017 – 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM The South Bay Beer & Wine Festival invites you to enjoy the wares of more than 80 Beverage & Food exhibitors this Sunday May 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The best of Southern California’s regional breweries, wineries and restaurants are featured, yet the Festival in its fourth year is a mecca for craft brewers from throughout the west.
