With the spirit of Aloha in mind, Barry Hatchett’s 9th Annual Beach Shorts Film Fest returns to the South Bay this Saturday August 15th. Basically, the Beach Shorts Film Fest is a two chapter event with the first chapter dedicated to short films 6 to 10 minutes long with surfing or beach lifestyles as the theme. The screening night is a fun filled family event that brings together amateur and professional filmmakers from the South Bay and beyond. The Beach Shorts Film Fest takes place on Saturday at the Hermosa Beach Community Center where some of the best of the amateur films can win prizes. The second chapter of Beach Shorts Film Fest showcases professional surf filmmakers and clips from their latest movies.
BSFF will feature artists Joe Vickers and Carla Bates , a slide show from James Granoff and apparel by FISH at SEA in the lobby. Don’t forget the surfboard raffle from Davenport Longboards; raffle tickets are one dollar. Join in the fun and share the aloha! The film fest starts at 7:00pm and tickets are $10 at the door. www.beachshortsfilmfest.com
