South Bay Weekend: Outdoors, G.I. Joe, Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, Feed the Kitty, Atomic Punks, & Vietnam Veterans

The start of 2015 should make for a lazy South Bay weekend, plain and simple. For most, reality won’t settle in till about Monday morning when schools and traffic along PCH come back to their normal routines. There are a couple fun things happening this weekend and if you want to get out and explore the South Bay while burning some candied, holiday calories, check out our outdoors page. There are a treasure chest trove of hikes along the backside of Rancho Palos Verdes that are well documented by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. If you need a little competition with your exercise, our friend, character, and long-time motivator G.I. Joe celebrates fifteen years of business. Joe will grapple with a maximum of 15 challengers for at least two minutes each, a total of 30 minutes, in submission-only matches (no punches, legs/ankle lock or kicks allowed only joint locks and submission holds)! It’s his own way of saying thanks and should be fun.

The South Bay Boardriders Club first surf contest is once again canceled according to their facebook page, “Surf Series Contest #1 is being Postponed AGAIN due to Mother Ocean not providing swell and contestable conditions. Stay tuned for updates and again we appreciate your patience.”

Have a relaxing, lazy weekend! Below are a list of South Bay Events.
