Take a stroll down punk rock’s memory lane this Friday night at the Hermosa Beach Community Theater when scraggly dressed parents and adults reminisce about melodic riffs, Wienerschnitzel, and the first time they saw The Descendents play live when the punk rock documentary “FILMAGE: The Story of DESCENDENTS/ALL” sweats it out on the big screen. Probably best known for their logo of front-man Milo Auckerman’s doodle with glasses, the majority of The Descendents are Mira Costa High School graduates whose career spans at least 30 years.
The seeds of Southern California punk rock have some well respected roots in the South Bay with the likes of The Circle Jerks, Black Flag and Pennywise calling the beach cities home.
Presented by Made 1n Southern Kalifornia (M1SK) and Gold Country Productions “Filmage” brings The Descendents back to the South Bay, where their story began. Join your neighbors and friends for the screening of “FILMAGE: The Story of DESCENDENTS/ALL” with a musical tribute by the Imposters & Eddie, plus special guests.
Tickets are available online at eventbrite for $10 or grab one in person at ET Surf Shop, El Gringo, Mint Salon, Spyder Boardshops and Yer Cheat’n Heart Tattoo. Tickets will be $15 at the door and some of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Hermosa Beach Historical Society. Fun starts around 7:00 p.m. Hermosa Beach Community Theater is located at 710 Pier Avenue Hermosa Beach.
