One of the more pertinent topics around the South Bay water cooler after another glorious 4th of July weekend has nothing to do with all the partying and extra law enforcement that surge around here during America’s birthday, but the shark bite that took place just south of the Manhattan Beach Pier last Saturday. By all accounts, the bite was given by a juvenile Great White Shark that had been hooked on a fishing line for at least 25 minutes and now, more than ever, seems like a good time for some aquatic education. Next Tuesday, July 15th at the Joslyn Center in Manhattan Beach the Roundhouse Aquarium will sponsor a free lecture titled Sharing the Waves with Sharks of the South Bay. Open to the public, the event features Dr. Chris Lowe from California State University Long Beach Shark Lab. A big crowd is expected so visit their facebook page to RSVP.
Below are some South Bay Events happening this weekend.
