South Bay Weekend: “Frozen” on the Pier, IPA Festival, Riviera Village Summer Fest, Manhattan Beach Concerts, & More

In a way this South Bay weekend is a mere warm-up to next weekend’s 4th of July bonanza that will surely take place around the beach cities as America’s independence celebration casts off on a three-day pleasure cruise around the South Bay (4th of July lands on a Friday this year). Oil up and fix the chain on your beach cruiser and put some air in the tires to make sure your two-wheel mode of transportation is Strand ready. There are some fantastic fireworks shows that happen at King Harbor’s Seaside Lagoon and the privately funded barge off Torrance Beach on the 4th, but if you feel like setting off your own firework show this year, consider purchasing a pack of sparklers or magic snakes from the firework stand run by the Wounded Heroes of America. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping injured veterans from the most recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wounded Heroes for America firework stand will be at W. Rosecrans Ave in Hawthorne just passed the Rosecrans 405 freeway exit all through next week until they sell out. All proceeds go to help Wounded Vets. Be aware though, it is illegal to light off fireworks in all South Bay cities, the closest cities that permit “safe and sane” fireworks are Hawthorne and Lawndale.

Below are a list of South Bay Events. Have a good weekend!
