The space that once housed Kilkenny’s Irish Pub on the Redondo Pier, then was re-made into the Breakwall for an ill fated “Bar Rescue” by Spike TV, now holds domain to Barney’s Beanery who officially opened their South Bay doors on Friday, January 3rd. Barney’s Beanery is a long time LA classic bar and restaurant known for their newspaper sized menus and their iconic location in West Hollywood that’s been a late night watering hole for all types of renegade entertainment folk since its inception in the late 1920s.
Barney’s Beanery is already a well known brand with locations all over LA in Burbank, Pasadena, and Santa Monica and its presence will surely cater to a local, night-time crowd that may have stayed away from Redondo Pier since live music at Brixton has been turned off for now. Robert D. Resnick, master leaseholder of the Redondo Landing and President of the RDR Properties, says “Barney’s is going to be a great fit, to bring back the locals, more up to date, and more fun.”
Barney’s will host a cache of 50 beers on draft (50 more in bottles), a full bar, 60 hi-definition screen TVs, and happy hour specials. Barney’s is located at 100 Fisherman’s Wharf on the Redondo Pier and is open Monday to Friday 11:00am – 2:00am & Saturday to Sunday 9:00am – 2:am. Visit their website at http://barneysbeanery.com/
