Rise and shine elbow benders, L.A. Beer Week round seven is coming to a bar, bottle shop, pub, lectern and brewery near you earlier than seasons past. The epic steam engine that has become the craft beer industry in L.A. and South Bay locales meets for a week, June 20th-28th, a whole three months earlier than last year’s L.A. Beer Week. Presented by the Los Angeles County Brewers Guild, #LABW7 (official hash-tag) taps into summer when early bird tickets for their 6/20 kick-off event go on-sale at noon Friday April 3rd. New venue for kick-off event is Exposition Park, last year it was Chinatown, expect food trucks, at least 75 breweries, craft beer education and live music. VIP tix ($65) get you 15 drink tickets, samples from specialty VIP brews one hour before festival begins and a commemorative glass. No need to use drink tickets during VIP hour, the pour is free. General Admission tix ($45) give way to 15 drink tickets and a commemorative glass.

More L.A. Beer Week events will be announced in the coming month but there is one South Bay-centric event taking place on the seafaring side of King Harbor Marina June 24th at Naja’s Place. California brewer guilds from L.A., San Fancisco & San Diego and member breweries meet to pour specialty brew for the legal drinking public. Winning brewer with the most votes takes home the Golden Keg.
