Overview
Tara Thai is the epitome of authentic Thai cuisine. It is a lovely little restaurant in the Pacific Plaza with a dramatic decor that makes the most of a small space. Demure waitresses clad in salmon or purple silk serve the food, which the restaurant claims is the most authentic Thai food around. The signature dishes include chicken on fire, which is barbeque chicken served over steamed vegetables and lit on fire; the Tara Thai special is grilled salmon topped with sautéed Napa cabbage, red bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and served in a house ginger sauce; and the honey spare ribs are marinated and served with a hot sweet and sour sauce.
At Tara Thai authentic means spicy, so if you want it mild, be sure to let the waitresses know. Go early for the lunch specials when the price is only $6.95 for a full  meal.
