Redondo Beach Art Group Brings Power of Art Exhibit to Libraries

For the first time since its inception in 2003, the non-profit group Redondo Beach Art Group (RBAG) will host their ninth Power of Art exhibit in a more introspective type of public space, the Redondo Beach Main Library and the North Branch Library. The 9th Power of Art will include art exhibits, musical performances, workshops for children & adults, and more. There will also be a silent auction and refreshments. Admission to the Power of Art is free.

To kick off the three-day event, a gala style reception will be held Friday October 17th 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live jazz from Avenue J, guest artists installations, The Grilled Cheese Truck, and wine for purchase. Friday’s reception also includes a look at “Postcards from Redondo Beach” in the main gallery curated by artist Richard Stephens.

On Saturday highlights include a live band performance from Algo-Rythm playing original music & some classic rock 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a 12:30 p.m. showing of “Where the Wild Things Are,” an art project for all ages put together by South Bay Hands on Art.

Artist Richard Stephens will present a pastel workshop for all ages 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to their facebook page, RBAG was founded in 2003 to create and promote artistic discussion, to provide camaraderie and encouragement to the artistic community, to collaborate and to support the visual arts in the South Bay.
