The city of Torrance officially widens its craft brewery market this Friday, April 25th from 4pm to 9pm by presiding over the Grand Opening of Absolution Brewing Co. Although Absolution has been open for tasting and elbow bending since late February, the newest of Torrance breweries will be unofficially baptized by the Mayor of Torrance, Frank Scotto, and other city representatives along with a ribbon cutting ceremony for pomp and circumstance. Absolution will showcase three new beers as well as their latest batch of Angel’s Demise IPA. Food will be offered and paired by a food truck, Creative Eats.
Since The Strand Brewing Co. took root in 2009, Torrance has unequivocally become the creative space craft brewers seek and easily boasts the highest amount of craft breweries in the South Bay and arguably the whole county of Los Angeles. Indicitive of Torrance’s brewery friendly ethos is the newly hatched “Discover Torrance” Visitors Bureau website that sculpted a holiday promotion dubbed “Shops, Hops, and Slumber Fest” earlier in December 2013 that highlighted its breweries as a tourist attraction.
Absolution Brewing Company is located at 2878 Columbia Street in Torrance. This Friday they will be open from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with the ribbon cutting ceremony beginning around 4:00 PM.
