Scare & Tear Surf Costume Contest Returns to Manhattan Beach Pier

Strange and weird phenomena tend to happen around this time of year, witches ride broomsticks high in the sky, pumpkins race downhill for prizes and zombies learn to surf. The Scare & Tear Surf Costume Contest returns Halloween morning, back from the primordial sludge of the sea. The contest is this Saturday October 31st and features a monster showdown between groms, creatures, longboarders, SUP folk, and anyone else who dare sign up. All participants must wear a disgustingly ghoulish costume and surf their brains out.

One of the original surf costume contests is back from the dead with the help of Spyder Surfboards and other sponsors at Manhattan Beach Pier Saturday morning with a deadly start time of 8:00 a.m. Cost is $40 to enter, sign-up onlineor at Spyder Surf Shop located at 2461 Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach.
