39th Annual Festival of the Kite on the Redondo Pier: Sunday, March 10, 2013 – Noon – 5 PM
The Redondo Pier Association hosts one of the longest running kite festivals in Southern California this Sunday, March 10th. The Kite Festival has been produced by the Sunshine Kite Company since 1974 and is one of the more visually stunning events around the South Bay. Awards will be presented in several categories: Best Hand-Made Kite, Highest Flying Kite, and Youngest at Heart Kite Flyer.

LUNAFEST: Short Films by, for, and About Women at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center: Sunday, March 10, 2013 – 2:00 PM
LunaFest is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women. This season, the festival of films will make a stop at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center courtesy of Soroptimist International of Manhattan Beach (SIMB). Each year, various organizations bring LUNAFESTs to their communities and raise funds for their local nonprofits as well as the main beneficiary — the Breast Cancer Fund.
