Chalk, that old school medium scratches, colors, and depicts scenes commemorating Earth Day along Redondo Beach’s Sea Wall this Saturday. Sponsored by the King Harbor Association, the 5th illustration of KHA’s Chalk Art Challenge is this Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm, the event is open to the public and all artists of every skill level are welcome to participate. The first 100 children to sign-up on the day of the event will receive free chalk and a recycled & reusable canvas tote bag that they can custom paint with members of the Redondo Beach Arts Group. The exact location of the Sea Wall sits between Redondo Beach Marina’s Sport Fishing Pier (the short pier) and Samba’s Brazilian Steakhouse (181 N. Harbor Drive).

Universe Multicultural Film Festival: Friday, April 17, 2015 – Sunday, April 19, 2015 Universe Multicultural Film Festival’s annual celebration brings together cinephiles, filmmakers and artists to explore some of the most original features in world cinema this weekend up on the Promenade in Rolling Hills Estates. This year UMFF will screen 57 short films from 24 countries, 18 feature films from 10 countries and 12 screenplays from five countries along with special artist tributes, panels, education programs and festivities. The 40th Annual Vette Set Car Show at Ruby’s Diner: Saturday, April 18, 2015 – 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM The Vette Set Car Show turns forty this year and will be held at Ruby’s Diner along Harbor Blvd. in Redondo Beach. Awards will be given out to deserving GM car owners. Corvettes will be judged by National Council of Corvette Clubs rules for Street Concours. All years GM Cars and Trucks are welcome to enter show.
