South Bay Weekend: El Niño, Samba, Elvis Turns 80, Soil 101, January Fishtivities, Shop Talk at ADM, Atomic Punks, SFO Opera Cinema Series & Small Batch Sunday

El Niño esta aqui or El Nino is here, either way you translate it, a refreshingly powerful force of mother nature has driven hail, rain, massive waves and rumbling skies unto the South Bay this week. Even though South Bay coastal waters are simmering with all types of storm water pollutants in the aftermath of this week’s storms, there’s a new shape of beauty to the landscape that comes with rain-swept beaches and pounding surf.

The weekend after the holidays is probably not the most happening two-day respite, filled with new diet and exercise resolutions and other life maintenance goals. Some of us will probably spend some time taking down holiday decorations and turning off Christmas lights. Since local forecasters predict another heaping of El Nino to begin again this Saturday, we’ve listed a variety of events that take place indoors below.
