Another outstanding South Bay Weekend rolls in just ahead of Saint Patrick’s Day, which pledges remembrance and celebratory gathering this Monday March 17th. The beach cities and beyond will adorn themselves with green paraphernalia throughout the weekend and bagpipes will blow in Hermosa Beach for what will be the 20th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. A green themed race with gold at the end and space for toddlers to compete wakes up early on Sunday morning for the St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run/Walk and Little Leprechaun Dash for the Gold. Other Irish-at-heart festivities abound all weekend, take a look below because there is never a dull moment in the South Bay.

Friday night’s Saint Patrick’s Day Throwdown features a rollicking good time by Hoist the Colors a 7 piece folk band that will playing some Irish cover songs. The city of Torrance showcases its Japanese roots with their 3rd Annual Cherry Blossom Cultural Festival this Sunday, March 16th from 11a.m. to 4:00p.m. at Columbia Park. Bring a blanket and some friends to sit under the Cherry Blossoms, it’s a free event. Live music is scheduled along with traditional Japanese dancers, a Wushu Shaolin Martial Arts demonstration, and other cultural performances.
