Local craft beer heroes from the depths of Midwestern South Bay, El Segundo Brewing Company, honor their array of new labels with a bottle release this Friday. ESBC has completely re-branded their bottles with new labels and have also begun offering home delivery bottle service to thirsty patrons who want to join their “Freshies Club.” A triple IPA with the moniker Power Plant goes on sale Friday in bottles and will be available on draft this Saturday. more info

In a strange twist of marketing fate, craft brewers, fans and enthusiasts have united in an online front against Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial that hooks, jabs and upper-cuts it’s way through the craft beer industry with a couple cheap-shots at mustachioched hipsters too. Take a look for yourself below at what is an absolute “shots fired” by Budweiser. If nothing else, now it’s a little easier to find that culture war brewing in your glass of beer.

Torrance Theatre Company: Mrs. Parliment’s Night Out: Friday, February 06, 2015 – Saturday, February 07, 2015 – Various Canada’s most produced playwright, Norm Foster, introduces us to Teresa Parliament, who’s in a bit of a rut. Her husband is more interested in watching the news and having the same old thing for dinner every night. But when he forgets their 32nd wedding anniversary, Teresa decides it’s time for a change! She sets out to find a life for herself outside of the home, filled with new friends, new adventures and new life lessons. Reel Rock Films: AKA Doc Pomus: Saturday, February 07, 2015 – 7:30 PM Doc Pomus was the most unlikely of rock & roll icons. Paralyzed with polio as a child, Brooklyn-born Jerome Felder reinvented himself first as a blues singer, renaming himself Doc Pomus, then as a songwriter, creating some of the greatest hits of the early rock and roll era: “Save the Last Dance for Me,” “This Magic Moment,” “A Teenager in Love,” “Viva Las Vegas,” and a thousand others. Doc used crutches and a wheelchair. He lived life fully, if not always happily or easily.
