Spyder’s Snow Fest is Back in Downtown Hermosa Beach!

Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach will once again morph into Mt. Hermosa with a slope-style, snowboard park featuring boxes, rails, and cars for what will be the 3rd annual Snow Fest. To bring snow anywhere near the South Bay and create a credible snowboard event with a contest, good vibes, and kung-fu maneuvers is a herculean effort. This year the folks at Mountain High have provided some extra lift and will be decorating Pier Avenue with over 60 tons of the cold and fluffy stuff on Saturday, December 7th. Although last year’s Snow Fest didn’t happen, this year Spyder, Mountain High and the general goodwill of the snowboard industry have teamed up to bring the event back to Hermosa Beach’s downtown. A riding exhibition will be put on by the Mountain High Team and some of Southern California’s best jibbers. Tons of vendors will be there handing out free goodies, playing games, and having contests.

This year’s Snow Fest is scheduled to run from 1:00 – 7:00pm on Saturday, December 7th. Toward the end of the event some snow tubing will be allowed. Take a look at what the first Hermosa Beach Snow Fest looked like in our photo gallery.

If you want to ride (snowboard / ski) at Snow Fest this year then go ahead and try to enter Mountain High’s video contest where you can submit a video of yourself tearing it up in a snowboard park. There are 10 spots available, the video with the most votes wins a chance to ride at Snow Fest. Visit Mountain High’s facebook page for contest details.
