Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market Celebrates 30 Years

Torrance CA – The City of Torrance invites the public to the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Tuesday Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. A short program will start at 10:00 a.m. to commemorate this important milestone. The event will be held within the Farmers’ Market food court area in Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance 90501. This event is free to the public and no RSVP is necessary.

The Tuesday Torrance Farmers’ Market’s is the longest running market in the South Bay. The 30th anniversary celebration will include remarks from Mayor Patrick J. Furey, and recognition of the original farmers and volunteers from the first Farmers’ Market.

The Tuesday Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market started as a service to the community to provide local and fresh produce to residents of Torrance and surrounding communities. The market serves as a way to help small, local farmers sell their goods directly to the public, while contributing to the quality of health to residents.
