With the spirit of Aloha in mind, Barry Hatchett’s 10th Annual Beach Shorts Film Fest returns to Hermosa Beach Community Center this Saturday August 20th. Basically, the Beach Shorts Film Fest is an event where a large line-up of local filmmakers get a chance to screen their own cinematic interpretations dedicated to surfing or a casual beach lifestyle. Traditionally the short films are 6 to 10 minutes long and Barry usually MC’s the whole event. The screening night is a fun filled family event that brings together amateur and professional filmmakers from the South Bay and beyond. The Beach Shorts Film Fest takes place on Saturday at the Hermosa Beach Community Center for its 10th anniversary screening.
BSFF will feature artist Ken Reiter, a slide show Brendan Simmons and various photos, art and apparel from local artists and fashion designers. Don’t forget Surfboard Raffle from Davenport Longboards! Join in the fun and share the aloha! The film fest starts at 7:00pm and tickets are $10 at the door. www.beachshortsfilmfest.com
