The official end of another glorious South Bay summer makes some noise this Labor Day Weekend as Fiesta Hermosa celebrates its 43rd year. Just like last year, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce is expecting crowds to swell above the 100,000 mark to what is arguably North America’s largest Arts and Crafts Fair. Thus, the best mode of transportation is a beach cruiser or a pair of flip-flops. Fiesta Hermosa

Labor Day Weekend at BALEENkitchen: Thursday, September 03, 2015 – Monday, September 07, 2015 This three day weekend at BALEENkitchen features a host of remedies to beat the heat and relish near the water’s edge for some libations and live music. Summer may be coming to its unofficial end but a celebratory mood will be flowing all Labor Day Weekend topside at BALEENkitchen. Friday night the varied sounds of Coleslaw will play reggae, funk, or blues jams, that set the stage for a holiday weekend of live music, a Bloody Mary bar, brunch & bottomless Mimosas and other drink specials. Be sure and check out Lindsey Harper’s sultry voice when she performs live Saturday night at BALEENkitchen too. BALEENkitchen is located at 260 Portofino Way in

Iron Maiden Record Release Party & “The Trooper” Beer Drinking Escapade: Friday, September 04, 2015 This Friday, from 7pm-11pm, Phantom Carriage Brewery in Carson will be hosting a party for Iron Maiden’s first ever double-album “The Book of Souls” (the band will not physically be there). Trooper beer will be poured from draft and available in cans; special giveaways & raffles happen through the night. Phantom Carriage Brewery is located at 18525 S Main St. in Carson. more info

Berry Bly and Soul Shaker at Standing Room: Friday, September 04, 2015 – 9pm-close Berry Bly brings his band Soul Shaker to the Standing Room in Hermosa Beach on Friday, September 4th for their Labor Day Weekend Kickoff Bash. Soul Shaker is known for their high energy show with a blend of R&B, hip hop and rock. This show will absolutely sell out so please arrive early. Doors open at 9pm. Standing Room is located at 1320 Hermosa Avenue.

Back to School Bash!: Saturday, September 05, 2015 – 10:00am – 12:00pm Join the SEA Lab in celebrating the end of summer with their Back to School Bash! Touch tank tours, a fun and interactive kids’ musical performance with Nick and Jen, fish feeding and tile painting will be offered. Admission is $5 per person (children 3 and under are free). Sea Lab is located at 1021 N Harbor Dr in Redondo Beach.

2015 Summer of Free Music Concerts on the Pier Feat. West Swell & Chico’s Bail Bonds Blues: Saturday, September 05, 2015 – 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Redondo Pier Concerts come to a close Labor Day Weekend on Saturday when West Swell (reggae band) and Chico´s Bail Bonds Blues Band wave good-bye to summer. For over 20 years, the Redondo Pier Association has sponsored the biggest free summer concert series in the South Bay of Los Angeles. more info

The Pine Mountain Logs at Saint Rocke : Saturday, September 05, 2015 – 8:00 PM Fresh from playing this year’s Hermosa Beach Summer Concerts, the Pine Mountain Logs visit Saint Rocke this Saturday night with opening act Johnny Rockband. The Pine Mountain Log band members have recorded or toured with such acts as: Don Henley, Phil Collins, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Crosby Stills and Nash, Jackson Browne, Styx, America, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Sting, just to name a few. Summer Night Lights Walking Tour: Saturday, September 05, 2015 – 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM This is an evening walking tour to music as we see historical Old Torrance sites lit up at night. This docent-led tour begins at the Torrance Historical Society & Museum, (1345 Post Avenue), and will cover about 12 blocks. Many of the areas are over uneven surfaces. more info

Manhattan Beach Concerts in the Park: Sunday, September 06, 2015 – 5:00 – 7:00 PM Manhattan Beach concerts in the park run from the first Sunday in July through Labor Day weekend live at Polliwog Park. In the past they have featured such artists as the Doo-Wah Riders and Fantastic Diamond, as well as a host of other talented musicians. These performances are open seating and free to the public. This Sunday “Hard Days Night ” (Beatles Tribute Band) perform live at Polliwog Park (1601 Manhattan Beach Blvd Manhattan Beach from 5pm to 7pm.
