On Sunday, October 28 just above the Manhattan Beach Pier annual Pumpkin Race, sometimes referred to as the WORLD FAMOUS Pumpkin Race, celebrates its’ 28th Birthday! Get your pumpkins, grab your friends and be a part of this celebration. Once again, the whole Manhattan Beach Pier area will be transformed into a land of screaming, mad pumpkins rolling-racing near warp speeds adorned with colorful costumes… Watch out for the Cheater Pumpkin!
Make your own pumpkin race car and feel the thrill of competing in the fun-spirited World Famous Pumpkin Race. This is a free fun event for the whole family.
If you want to be a part of the race, Open Qualifying will take place between noon and 3:00 p.m., and will give you chance to race in the Championship Finals beginning at 5:00 p.m. If you don’t feel like racing, it is always fun to watch the racers trying to make it to the finish line in their own unique styles with their pumpkins. The highlight of the Pumpkin Race is a unique side-by-side single elimination race featuring handcrafted, decorated Pumpkin RaceCars in a funky, hilarious, suspenseful, and dramatic display of American ingenuity.
