The widely-popular, twice-yearly program presented by the L.A. Tourism and Convention Board returns for its second summer plating in mid-July and features delicious, specially priced prix fixe menus for lunch and/or dinner. A wide variety of restaurants throughout Los Angeles are participating in dineLA Week and naturally some venues happen to serve the South Bay culinary landscape. With lunch menus ranging from $15 to $25 and dinner menus ranging from $30 to $50, you are sure to get great value at low risk. Put away the pots and pans this week, at least for a couple nights, during dineLA week which has already started and will cook through Sunday July 28.
“Summer roadtrip,” is this season’s dineL.A. theme – inviting guests to travel to and throughout the city eating their way across the various neighborhoods and a diverse variety of cuisines.
Diners are encouraged to share their Summer dineL.A. experiences by participating in the Dine. Snap. Win. Instagram contest sponsored by American Airlines. Participants simply snap a photo of their dineL.A. dish, using the hashtag #DineSnapWin, and include the restaurant name to be entered into the contest where one winner will receive 100,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. Japanese barbecue restaurant in Torrance, Gyu-Kaku, is fantastic and best fit for groups and families looking to grill their own cuts of meat and vegetables washed down by cold beer or sake. Gyu-Kaku is rocking a $29 dinner special where you get to select premium proteins like Kobe style Tri-Tip, New York Steak strips, duck breast, Kalbi, a vegetable and a s’mores dessert. Dinner on Saturday & Sunday runs 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Abigaile in Hermosa Beach prepares a hip a 3-course dinner where the first two courses let you munch on two dishes per course that costs $49 (per person) before tax and gratuity. Nosh on some Fried Green Olives, Shrimp N “Grits, Fried Chicken or Chicken Pot Pie. All dinners finish with a slice of Passion Fruit Cake.
At Sausal in El Segundo during dineLA week but they will be plating a $20 lunch menu. Spice up the work week with some mixed ceviche (fish, calamari, Habanero Salsa, citrus) and Beef Barbacoa Enchiladas. dineLA Lunch menu only available during the week form 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Creator of MB Post and Manhattan Beach’s debonair steakhouse The Arthur J, Chef David LeFevre’s manic homage to the sea, Fishing with Dynamite brings a $25 3-course lunch menu to the dineLA table and this is good news. It’s not easy to get a dinner reservation at FWD on any given night because of the small space (max is about 36 diners) and the creative, ever-changing hand-picked menu that boast an outstanding cocktail selection and raw oyster bar is always in demand. Even though its lunch, call ahead to FWD to make a reservation during dineLA week.
Little Sister in Manhattan Beach offers a stater and one main entree for a $25 lunch.
Family run Bettolino Kitchen in Redondo Beach will cook up prix fixe lunch & dinner menus showcasing their focus on freshly made Italian meals like Ravioli de Asparagi: ricotta & asparagus stuffed ravioli, shrimp, cherry tomatoes and white wine sauce.
