Newest Torrance Craft Brewery, Scholb Premium Ales, Launches Kickstarter Campaign

The city of Torrance continues to drive the the craft beer industry around the South Bay when they granted the Schulz and Kolb families a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to brew beer and sell their hop-centric product via an adjacent tasting room earlier this August. The first craft brewery in the South Bay launched back in 2009 with The Strand Brewing Co. and now Torrance will be able to boast a total of six craft breweries when Scholb (Schulz + Kolb) Premium Ales comes to fruition later this year. Torrance actually caters to a soft seven breweries if you consider Red Car Brewery & Restaurant; they sometimes get left out of the craft beer renaissance. Red Car is one of the original South Bay brewpubs.

Scholb will brew beers that are IPA minded with hop-forward styles like a session IPA (think a more drinkable IPA, less ABV) and other red & black IPAs. We look forward to dropping in and tasting Torrance’s newest craft brewery, hopefully before the end of the year.

Scholb will be located in an industrial business center that also houses another craft brewery, Absolution Brewery, at 2964 Columbia St. in Torrance.

Recently Scholb Brewing launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the cost of some fermenters & kegs, and hope to raise a total of $10,500. The Kickstarter campaign ends on Monday, September 14th.
