Labor Day Weekend signals your last chance to boogie on down sea-side and listen to the last summer round of free concerts on the Redondo Pier. Redondo Pier’s Summer of Music plugs-in for its final concert of the season Saturday night 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday rockabilly guitarist and all around rock star Danny Dean takes the stage. Smog City Brewery in Torrance is having a Labor Day Weekend beer bottle sale according to their newsletter, “any 12 bottles of Smog City beer will be 20% off.” Special holiday beer bottle sale starts on Friday when they open and ends on Sunday (they’re closed on Labor Day). Only bottle not worthy of a discount is newly released brew Snugglebug.

Contemporary Post Future! The Dichotomy of Design and Art Exhibit: Now through Sunday, October 16, 2016The Manhattan Beach Art Center recently opened a wonderful exhibit featuring the works of Southern California graphic & illustrative artist John Van Hamersveld. He was inducted to the Surfing Walk of Fame in 2014 for his contribution to the look and feel of surf culture. He is the artist behind the image for classic surf film “The Endless Summer” and helped Surfing Magazine design covers and logos. This exhibition presents past and present artworks where John Van Hamersveld explores the connection between art, design and commerse. Fiesta Hermosa Signals Labor Day Weekend, Beer Garden, Live Music & More The unofficial end of yet another glorious South Bay summer makes some noise this Labor Day Weekend as Fiesta Hermosa celebrates its 44th year. Just like years in the past, crowds are expected to swell well above the 100,000 mark to what is arguably North America’s largest Arts and Crafts Fair. Thus, the best mode of transportation is a beach cruiser or a pair of flip-flops. Fiesta Hermosa’s 3-day festival, September 3-5, is centered in Hermosa Beach and the city swells with fair food, craft booths, a kiddie carnival, and a beer garden.
